D12 (initialism for the Dirty Dozen) was an American Hip-Hop band from Detroit, Michigan and formed around 1996. The band attained mainstream success with much credit given to the already growing fame of one of its members (and de facto leader) Eminem. An original band of 6, other members include Proof, Bizarre, Mr. Porter (FKA Kon Artis), Kuniva and Swifty McVay. Over time, the group has lost a couple of its members; between the death of Proof in 2004 and not much active membership from Mr. Porter as well as Eminem, with the latter formally retiring from the group in 2018; the group as a whole may no longer be as active as it used to be.
